Visitor Info

The Zuni Pueblo welcomes visitors who come into our community to learn more about our people and culture and to purchase arts and crafts from our talented Zuni artisans and businesses along the ZPMS corridor. As a multi-faceted community, there are many things that visitors can partake in at various times of the year. However, we strongly encourage visitors to visit with the utmost respect.

Despite offering many modern amenities like public wifi and EV charging stations, the Zuni community actively preserves its unique cultural identity. It draws strength from its ancient traditions while engaging with the broader American landscape. Unlike other pueblos, the Zuni Pueblo does not celebrate feast days nor are any cultural ceremonies intermingled with the Catholic Church. The annual events listed below are public events that are open to everyone. Cultural ceremonies and events that occur throughout the year are more restricted and not allowed to be publicized.

The first recommended stop is the Zuni Visitors Center where you can obtain general information about our unique community and learn proper visitor etiquette, purchase photo/video permits, and inquire about the places to eat and visit. At the Visitors Center, you can sign up for tours of our historic Middle Village, considered the oldest part of Zuni Pueblo or tours of the ancestral village of Hawikku, where European explorers to the “New World” first made contact with the A:shiwi in 1539.

Most Zuni Pueblo events are open to the public where photography of these events and scenery is allowed with a valid photo permit. However, please note that cultural or religious ceremonies occurring in the Middle Village area are not allowed to be, photographed and no photo permits will be issued. Visitor Center staff can advise you accordingly.

For more information about visiting the Zuni Pueblo, please visit the Zuni Tourism website, the Zuni Visitors Center, or call (505) 782-7238.
